Looking for a Brewfather alternative for distilling?

Brewfather is excellent at what it's built for — beer brewing. Once you start distilling, the gaps show up fast: no strip-run logging, no cuts, no lot provenance, no dilution math, no bottled spirit ledger. Broover fills those gaps. Free during Beta, and you don't have to choose between the two.

What Brewfather does well — and where it stops

Brewfather is a great brewing app: recipe design, fermentation tracking, water chemistry, hardware integration for Plaato, Float, Tilt, Grainfather Conical Connect and friends. If you're brewing beer, mead, or cider, it's the standard for good reason.

But the moment you put a wash into a still, Brewfather has nothing to say. There's no concept of a strip run, no spirit run, no fraction collection, no heart-cut decision support, no contraction-aware dilution math, no neutral-spirit lot ledger feeding a bottled gin. The distilling workflow simply isn't in scope for Brewfather, and that's fair — they built for the brewing audience.

What Broover adds for distillers

Broover picks up where Brewfather leaves off. Pitch a wash from a recipe (sugar bill, yeast, nutrient, OG target, temperature band), log readings as the ferment progresses, mark it fermented when SG settles. Then strip the wash to a low-wines lot, spirit-run that lot to neutral, and either botanical-run the neutral to gin or finish-spirit it with a recipe for vodka, rum, whiskey, or liqueur. Every step preserves the link back to the wash so the bottled lot traces all the way home.

Contraction-aware dilution math (OIML R22 density tables) gets you from kettle to bottle without the back-of-an-envelope volume-additive errors. Per-pill calibration offsets, twin-pill divergence detection, ETA prediction, "is your wash done" guidance — all wired into one screen.

You don't have to choose — Broover connects to Brewfather Cloud

If you're already using Brewfather for the brewing side, keep it. Broover has a one-time Brewfather Cloud integration: connect your account once and your recipes flow into Broover automatically, plus every fermentation device Brewfather already supports (Plaato, Float, Grainfather Conical Connect, BrewPi, MyBrewBot, ChamberMate, the lot) streams readings into Broover's wash records. One workflow app, every hydrometer.

Recipe mapping is lossy by design — Broover is a distilling app, not a beer app — so mash schedules, hops and water profiles don't come across, but the name, OG/FG, yeast and fermentables do. Enough to pitch the wash and move on.

Native hydrometer support without Brewfather

If you're not on Brewfather, Broover also speaks RAPT Pill (connect your RAPT Cloud account once and readings stream natively), iSpindel (paste a webhook URL into the firmware), and Tilt (TiltPi, TiltPico, Tilt 4 Windows, or our in-browser Web Bluetooth scanner). Free during Beta. No card required.

Free to use right now — every feature, no payment details required. Have a look at broover.app for the full workflow tour, or jump straight to the how it works page.
